Experiential Training

Experiential Training:

To derive from experience

While we incorporate audience participation and interaction into each of our programs, team building is uniquely suited to reap the rewards of experiential training.  Experiential training allows you to actively implement the theory and techniques shared in the seminar. It makes real the concepts learned, and allows you to immediately evaluate the effectiveness of your employee’s retention and utilization of specific skills necessary to function effectively as a team.

At VRE Training, we utilize a theatre model to create a situation in which every participant plays a role in the successful completion of a play. The program is divided into 2 elements. The first part of the session is composed of a seminar outlining the elements of a highly developed team. The second part creates a situation where the participants must put into practice the skills they have just learned.

Before the end of the day, this dynamic program culminates in the production of a play by all the participants. They will implement the strategies and techniques and put them to the test in a fun and practical way.  With this non-threatening, and enlightening application, your team members will apply the communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills they have learned and reviewed throughout the session.  This program can be offered as a half or full day.

We’re All on the Same TEAM!

It has been said, the inability to work well with others is one of the main reasons people fail to climb the corporate ladder any higher than they do. While in the business world, it may cost an opportunity; in the medical world it may cost a life. This inability to work well with others is not necessarily a natural occurrence. It’s actually a learned behavior. Our training, to act and behave independently, begins at early stages of our lives. As small children we are told, “You need to learn to do that for yourself. People aren’t going to do your work for you, all your life. Or, “There is only one person you can really count on in this world and that is YOU!”  We, as a society, are taught to stand-up and take charge, be self-sufficient, and don’t rely on others. Where is the concept of teamwork is this philosophy? No where!!

So why are managers, supervisors, and even co-workers shocked when cooperation turns to competition, when support often turns into sabotage, and thoughts of being independent surpass the need to be interdependent? Generally, the answer is poor training on what team really means, how it works, and what each team member actually contributes to team success.

Because team is a mindset before it becomes a usable skill set, “We’re all on the Same Team!” Better Results Thru Cooperation is a training program that provides each attendee the opportunity to learn the true meaning of what a workplace team really is, and what their responsibilities are to its accomplishments. It examines the effective strategies and applicable techniques that move individuals from players of a game to members of a focused, high-performing team. During this thought-provoking, action-packed workshop, every attendee from CEO to janitor, administrator to staff member will learn what it means to be a team and how working cooperatively versus competitively really does lead to greater output with less stress.

Your team will:

  • explore the true meaning of team.
  • recognize how the corporate mission statement hurts team momentum and direction.
  • apply team success is gained by the G.R.A.M.
  • evaluate the causes of team conflict and repair them quickly
  • outline the symptoms of team dysfunction before it disables the team
  • realize how the team can effectively handle conflict without a manager's help
  • implement a team approach to eliminating unacceptable behavior and performance
  • Plus much, much more

In just one day, each member of your team will realize;

Team is not what a group of people do; Team is who you are.
